United Kingdom and Ireland - Instructions for Visitors

England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Ireland

The way things work in the UK & Ireland is not so different from North America (except that you drive on the left), but this section documents the things that I think are different. This is not a Survival Guide - survival is easy. These are Instructions for Visitors - how to do the every day things so that you will fit in and life will be easier.

Driving in England: Drive on the left, use the roundabouts correctly, figure out how to navigate the narrow roads and you are set for driving in England. This page gives you some hints about how to master these new skills. Also parking information.

Eating - Food Shops, Restaurants

Food Shops: Shopping in village shops or at supermarkets.

Restaurants: This is in the Food/Restaurant section, but I am including the link here because this section tells you all you need to know about restaurants, tea rooms, pubs, take away places, and fast foods (prepared meals from supermarkets).
